I usually master for digital stuff at - 14 to - 12 LUFS. Aug 16, 2016 · The LUFS [loudness units relative to full scale] meters in LEVELS are extremely accurate at displaying the perceived loudness of audio material. The LUFS scale (sometimes called LKFS, though they're exactly the same thing) was introduced primarily to outline broadcast standards to keep the perceived volume of the different shows and adverts the same. This is called loudness normalisation and ...
Meters with LU readouts are weird IMO. Since the relative target level is different in R128 vs ATSC A85 (did I get that right?), -23LUFS vs -24LUFS, the LU values are relative to what standard the meter is aligned to. LUFS will always be the same measured scale. The version of the standard however also makes a difference.
May 08, 2016 · Lets take Spotify as our example. Spotify streams audio at around -14 LUFS. If a track has a loudness level of -8 LUFS, Spotify will decrease the volume of that track to -14 LUFS. If a track is -23 LUFS the volume will be increased to -14 LUFS. This is GREAT news. It encourages artists to make their music more dynamic and less compressed.
Apr 17, 2016 · The Loudness Unit (LU) is equivalent to 1dB—that is, an increase (or decrease) of one LU is the same as raising or lowering by 1dB. Here’s a bonus myth debunk: LU’s are NOT louder than dBs! On an EBU R128 compliant loudness meter, a stereo -18dBFS sine tone at 1kHz measures -18 LUFS. On an EBU...
Anyone know where I can get a tiny LUFS meter ? They all take up a lot of space it seems. I hope Reaper gets LUFS. :-) Also, since Reaper won't let me put an FX in the BG the whole FX has to eat up the Reaper area. I would like to see LUFS added on the standalone as I use it with the LUFS meter on Logic Pro X but would like to use it standalone. -16 LUFS is great for Digital and -11 for CD but cannot tell in standalone use via the RMS VU meters. Other than that great product. Thus, you’ll see LUFS indicated with negative numbers: -16 LUFS, -19 LUFS, -23 LUFS, and such. (You may also hear people abbreviate “negative 19” to “neg 19” in speech). LUFS are an indication of the unit of measurement, which is actually “loudness units” (LU).

Nov 25, 2013 · i feel that most meters (and by meters i mean the built in meters on the fader & master bus) are not well designed at all. every DAW’s built in meters should have -18dBfs on them. it should be specifically labeled -18 right on the meter. how are people supposed to know where it is if it’s not even on the darned meter for crying out loud? only logic pro x has it? really? i feel this is the ... About. This is part of Reaper documentation on SWS features regarding loudness analysis and normalization. Note that the feature is fully compliant with EBU R128 Loudness Recommendation. It would be GREAT if Soundcloud would implement loudness normalizing! I'd suggest around 16 LUFS (true peak @ -1 dBTP) = PLR of 15. If you want a general loudness target for music that goes on Youtube, Soundcloud etc. ... then you're good with -13 LUFS (true peak @-1 dBTP) = PLR 12. But final target should always be
